French Under-21 star Adrien Guendouzi has announced his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after playing time disputes with the club.
Guendouzi, who has been on loan from Monaco since last summer, has not yet made a debut for the French national team and has struggled to make an impact in Ligue 1 this season. He was also involved in a spat with PSG manager Rudi Garcia earlier this month over a transfer fee dispute.
The two parties have been unable to reach a resolution and Guendouzi has decided to move on, leaving PSG without a key player for the upcoming campaign.
In a statement released by the club, Guendouzi said: "I would like to thank my teammates, coaches and supporters for their support throughout this process. I will continue to work hard at the training ground and look forward to the future."
Despite the setback, Guendouzi remains committed to his career at the Etihad Stadium and is expected to be available for the start of the new season when PSG resumes its preparations.
As for the future of the French Under-21 side, Guendouzi's departure comes as a blow to the squad, which had high expectations following the success of their under-21s in recent seasons. However, they remain confident that he will be able to contribute to their performance in the coming years.
