Hassan Al-Haydos, the captain of Al Duhail Football Club in Qatar, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a serious injury during training on Friday.
The 28-year-old midfielder was injured while attempting to make a tackle in a friendly match against Kuwaiti side Al Rayyan. He was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently recovering from his injuries.
Al-Duhail have confirmed that Al-Haydos will be sidelined for at least six months, meaning he will miss the rest of the league campaign and possibly the AFC Champions League as well.
The news has come as a shock to fans of the club, who had hoped to see him play a crucial role in their bid to win the title this season.
However, the team will need to find a replacement for Al-Haydos, and it remains to be seen who will step up and fill the gap left by one of the most experienced midfielders in the league.
In the meantime, Al-Duhail will look to continue their run of form and secure their place in the top flight of Qatari football. They have already won three matches in a row and sit second in the standings behind Al Sadd.
Despite the setback, the team will still have plenty of talent on display, including young stars like Yasser Al-Khelaifi and Ahmed Al-Jassem, who will be expected to step up and take on the responsibility of filling the void left by Al-Haydos.
It remains to be seen how long Al-Haydos will be out, but one thing is certain - his absence will be felt by both himself and the team. However, with a strong squad of players, Al-Duhail should be able to navigate through the challenges ahead and achieve their goals.
